Customer: State Health Information Exchange
Need: The Health Information Exchange, under a contract by the United States Department of Health and Human Services and the state's Department of Health and Hospitals, is a ground-breaking collaboration of healthcare systems to provide interoperable patient information exchange for Emergency Department use. This critical application requires security, reliability, and strong technical leadership.
Solution: The Exchange relied on Puryear IT to provide systems design and management for an 18-node Linux cluster running various Oracle applications and services. In addition, Puryear IT provided leadership as the Technical Lead for the Exchange for partners and vendors.

Customer: Major Louisiana Hospital System
Need: With several hospitals and clinics in Louisiana offering 40% of all patient beds, this hospital system has an extremely high business and regulatory requirement to maintain secure and reliable control of its directory services and identity management for over 14,000 users.
Solution: Puryear IT has worked closely with the hospital system for several years to help architect, implement, and manage their identity management, directory services, and Linux systems. Projects have included the integration of several Active Directory services under a single LDAP directory services umbrella, customization of identity management solutions and connectors, and integration of legacy enterprise applications with LDAP.

Customer: Espion International
Need: Espion provides their clients with a high-performance spam, AV, and content policy appliance. They were preparing to design and implement the second major release of their solution, but needed to streamline their development process and to design and implement their core software to be more flexible.
Solution: Puryear IT was engaged to help reorganize the software development process, to maximize the performance of the software and underlying FreeBSD-based operating system, and to help design and implement the core routing software used by the appliance.
