This is a pro tip based on our Using Office 365 Bookings for physician offices webinar.  The Bookings app in Microsoft Teams offers a simple way to schedule in-person and virtual appointments by providing high-quality, personalized, and affordable consultations.

In-person physician visits can be challenging, especially for patients with mobility issues, a compromised immune system, or living in areas with a shortage of healthcare facilities.  Using the complete meetings platform in Microsoft Teams, combined with the Bookings app in Teams, physician offices will be able to schedule, manage, and conduct virtual visits with patients, such as an initial consultation or a post-op follow-up.

The Bookings online meetings setting allows a physician office to maximize appointment scheduling and grant patients the option to meet with you from anywhere.  Physician offices can manage communications with internal and external attendees, from a single experience.  The virtual appointments themselves are held via Microsoft Teams Meetings, which offers robust videoconferencing capabilities.  Each appointment booked as an online meeting creates a unique meeting link enabling attendees to join via a web browser, phone dial-in, or the Teams app.

The Bookings app can be installed and pinned to the vertical navigation menu bar in Microsoft Teams.  The Bookings platform in Teams features a calendar view showing staff members and their availability with appointment time intervals.  It also provides a new booking button that opens a scheduling form which includes a drop-down selection of the services available to schedule.  This scheduling form captures attendee (patient) contact information, appointment date and time preferences, the option to add an internal note as well as email reminder to the patient with a custom message.  Patients can simply join appointments from their Outlook or Teams calendar or from a link in their booking confirmation email.

Built on the secure and compliant Microsoft 365 cloud, Teams enables HIPAA compliance, and the Telehealth with Microsoft Teams Support Program enables healthcare providers to schedule, consult, and collaborate securely with their allied health professionals and patients.

This and a lot more was covered in our Using Office 365 Bookings for physician offices webinar.
