Data Center

A data center is where your data is stored in "the cloud". A data center's design is built on a network of computing and storage resources that enable the delivery of data and shared applications. Many service providers have multiple data centers to allow for geographical redundancy, which means that if one data center goes down another can pick up the slack to ensure that even when disasters happen critical applications and data remain available.

Dark Web

The dark web (also known as the dark net, the backweb, and the onionweb) lets users communicate anonymously online, keeping all communication private, and is only accessible through a special browser named Tor. Obviously, this anonymity has benefits for cybercriminals (which is where data breach information can be sold); however, many visitors on the dark web also use it to browse privately without worrying about identity theft.

With the recent rebrand of Facebook to Meta, you might think the metaverse is a Mark Zuckerberg project. Yet, it's not. The term metaverse in its colloquial use is a network of 3D virtual worlds focused on social connection. Your device or platform doesn't matter; you can join the metaverse – where you can game, learn, buy stuff and attend virtual events.

Machine Learning

When a company today deploys an artificial intelligence program, they are most likely using machine learning — so much so that the terms are often used interchangeably. Machine learning refers to powerful computers processing data at a rate humans can't match with the added ability to learn without explicitly being programmed.
