Create an OU in Active Directory

You need to create an OU in Active Directory. This is usually done to delegate control, GPO application, etc.


You can do this using Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC)

  1. Log into a DC.
  2. Start ADUC.
  3. Navigate to the top-level of the domain.
  4. Navigate to the part of the tree where you wish to create the OU. We’ll create the OU under <domain>->Corp Sites in our example.
  5. Right-click Corp Sites and choose New->Organizational Unit.
  6. Name the Organizational Unit (OU). In our example, we’ll name it Japan.
  7. Click Ok.
  8. The OU has been created.
