You are using Windows 8 but need to access websites using Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) or at least allow IE plugins to work as if they were in IE9. An example is Citrix, which seems to have issues with newer versions of IE, but works great in Windows 7 and IE9.
You can’t install IE9 on Windows 8. Not going to happen. However, you can do a fix in Windows 8 in IE that will cause IE to behave like IE and this will generally fix the issue.
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Press F12 to get into Developer Tools.
- Scroll down until you see the “Emulation” option.
- From there choose the User Agent String and select Internet Explorer 9.
- Now go to the login page or install page that you were having errors with earlier and it should Install/Ask for Permissions normally now.
HUGE NOTE: A restart of your computer or browser may be necessary to complete most plugin installations using this method.
