How to resolve Outlook Web Access (OWA) only allowing Light Version viewing

You are only able to provide the “Light Version” of Outlook Web Access and would like to provide “Regular” as well.

Solution

Outlook Web Access (OWA) has accessibility features for those with vision impairments, and those who simply prefer a simpler look to OWA. There are two versions, regular, and light. As shown below you can select light version.

However, with certain browsers, they can only use the light version, and the box with that option is by default selected and greyed-out, and not able to be changed.

Below is a list of all the Browser’s compatible with OWA that can use the Full Version of Outlook Web App. Any other versions automatically use the light version.

  • Internet Explorer 7 or higher (excluding IE10 and IE11)
  • Mozilla Firefox 3.01 or higher
  • Google Chrome 3.1 or higher
  • Apple Safari 3.1 or Higher
