You want to setup your new Office 365 account so that you can change your own password in the future. This article assumes you have setup your Challenge Questions upon logon when you did know the password.
Note: If you are using DirSync for password integration with Microsoft Active Directory, you will need Azure AD for write-back. That said, that’s an IT technical detail–most users do not need to worry about whether this is the case or not.
Office 365 provides this option when you first login.
- When you first log into your Office 365 account you will see this:
- Click Set It Up Now
- Note that you can setup different types of alternative authentication for password resets, including:
- Text To Phone resets
- Alternative Email resets
- Security Question resets
- We recommend you setup all 3 options!
