This is an overview of Office 365 Sway that was recently covered in our webinar to our Baton Rouge IT support users, Using Office 365 Sway designs for physician offices, and its numerous free templates to get you started in the creative design process.  If you are new to Office 365, Sway is a free web-based presentation app for anyone with a Microsoft account, that helps you build announcements, newsletters, resumes, presentations, and much more.

Let’s take a look at a few of the top template designs in Sway and what they have to offer:

  1. Internal newsletter. An internal newsletter features office news, announcements, and other pertinent information that is important for staff to know. Suggested content is highlighting office birthdays or welcoming a new employee, industry-related articles or blog posts, or sharing enlightening success stories.
  2. External newsletter. An external newsletter is designed to inform clients and help promote your company image. Suggested content is tips, community affairs, or milestones achieved.
  3. How-to. Everyone benefits from a visual step-by-step process in learning how to do something. This template helps you create each step with the inclusion to upload videos and related resources to support each step.
  4. Business presentation. Start by creating interest and capturing your audience's attention with an interesting story or anecdote, next introduce your primary goal or purpose, next reinforce your main point with facts, then conclude your presentation by reiterating your main argument and provide concrete consequences and practical applications.
  5. Vision document. Begin with a quotation to inspire your readers and set the tone of the document, next frame the strategy and provide context on the vision, have your ideas stand out and reinforce your main point with facts, then wrap up your vision document by summarizing how this vision is unique.
  6. Resume. Sway offers three resume templates: Classic, Standard, and Enhanced to help you showcase your experience, education, skills, and abilities.
  7. Blog. Do something to stand out! It’s a competitive job market; and while a professional resume is important, it’s often not enough on its own. So supplement your resume by writing a blog post about your passion for the industry, trends you’re seeing, or a past project you’ve learned from.
